You don’t know how you got here…
But you KNOW you can’t keep going the way things are now.
And you know what you’ve tried to this point hasn’t worked.
Conversations with friends and family usually end in unhelpful answers or unwanted advice like, “Stop worrying about it… it’ll all work out,” “You’re so strong; you can handle the stress,” or “Good things happen when you least expect it.”
You’re tired of generic responses that lack empathy and understanding.
So, you make your first therapy appointment.
You’ve done the research, and you know it can help.
It’s time to try something new!
Still, you might be wondering…
“Am I really going to share these vulnerable thoughts with a stranger?”
It’s natural to be a bit nervous…
So many questions run through your mind…
“What do I talk about?”
“Will I feel judged?”
“Can’t I manage this on my own?”
“Should I do this?”
It’s ALMOST enough to shake your resolve, but then you remember:
You’ve been going it alone for a long time, and it just hasn’t worked.
For different results, you need a new approach.
At your first appointment, you’re met with a smile and a soothing voice. You’re quickly put at ease, making it feel safe to share your story and what’s brought you to therapy.
You become more relaxed when you realize this is more like speaking with a friend you are getting to know instead of a cold, professional type.
We meet each week over the next few months. You talk about your dreams, struggles, childhood, and what stands between you and the life you envision yourself living. You get to laugh, cry, and be vulnerable as you express your innermost thoughts in this supportive environment.
You can’t believe how much you have gotten to know yourself over these sessions!
It can all start today!
I’m sure you have some uncertainty about getting started. That’s understandable.
But I also know that you’ll look back someday and realize there was nothing to be afraid of.
Once you start talking, you’ll feel calmer and realize it’s the support you’ve been needing for a long time.
Let’s face these struggles together!

About Me
Hi, I’m Kristena…
And I’m so glad you’re here!
I have been where you are, dealing with racing thoughts, imposter syndrome, self-doubt, and low self-esteem.
I was fortunate to meet a great therapist who helped me find my path, which inspired me to do the same for others.
I want to help you find YOUR path!
That’s the key to becoming your ideal self.
As a clinical social worker licensed in Illinois and Tennessee, I’m here to meet teens and adults where they are so they can find their path forward.
I look forward to working with you!
Outside of the office…
I can usually be found watching true crime documentaries, the ID channel, or something involving the paranormal.
I love to travel and have a bucket list of destinations to get to eventually. When I’m not traveling, I spend a lot of time with my dog, Nola.
I enjoy cooking and trying new recipes, as sharing food I’ve prepared feeds my soul as much as my stomach.
I love watching live sports, especially basketball and football. I played volleyball growing up and still like playing when I get a chance!
